Hire Purchase is the most traditional way of financing a car purchase.

It's a fixed-rate finance scheme where you pay a deposit and finance the whole of the outstanding amount through a series of monthly payments, at the end of the contract period you take entire ownership of the vehicle.

PCP - Personal Contract Plan

PCP or Personal Contract Plan is the finance option given by most main dealers.

It is a fixed-payment scheme where the vehicle is given a guaranteed future value for the end of the agreement based on the age of vehicle and amount of predicted mileage. You will pay a deposit and finance the difference between that, the Guaranteed Future Value price and the purchase price, paid in fixed monthly payments. At the end of the agreed period you can review your personal situation and decide on your next step.
